Week 6 running on jet lag

This week kicked off with a 2-day break while I was traveling back to Taiwan. It involved a bit of jet lag and a minor infection. But on the same day I arrived at 6 AM local time (after a 12-hour flight), I worked until 6 PM and then decided to run from the office back home—a nice, easy 6km run. Turns out, this has become my routine on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays! It's exactly 6km, and it takes me about 40 minutes door to door, which isn’t bad for a commute between home and the office. Plus, the route is pretty awesome—along the riverside with no car or scooter traffic!

The same week I got busy planning for the weekend, I headed out with my volleyball crew for an overnight trip to Yilan. I decided to bring my running gear to take advantage of the great weekend weather. As soon as we got to the BnB, I went for a long run (12km) along the beach and seaside. It was a great Saturday for a run. After getting back to my crew, I still had the energy to play some beach volleyball, shop for our evening barbecue, and stay up late until 2:30 AM. However, there would be consequences the next day...

I ended up running almost 45km this week since I'm starting my 2-week taper period for the Taipei Marathon on December 15th. Next week, I'll be running even less and gradually getting ready! :)
